Original Paintings of Birds of Prey
As a thirteen year old, Alan was nurturing sick and injured animals and birds that he found or other brought to him. The more he observed the natural world the more he was excited by birds of prey. The power and magnificence of raptors - hawks, falcons, eagles and owls - burned in his imagination and he took up falconry, breeding and flying birds of prey. Alan used to fly peregrines and goshawks and used them as his reference material; he became known originally as a bird of prey artist up until his early thirties.
